This is right in line with all the folly and the absurdity of that Book.
Indeed, what do we even mean by "that book"?
The Old Testament? The first five books of the Old Testament? The New Testament? The Apocrypha? The Dead Sea Scrolls?
And which translation? Which revision?
As Mark Twain so aptly said:
"It [the Bible] is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies."
