Working Class?

I thought that phrase had been abolished in American politics.

Hadn't you noticed, for years now, American politicians always use the term "middle class" in their speeches?

No hints of class conflict allowed in America.

And everyone is flattered with a socio-economic status promotion.

It is a little similar to the disappearance of the word "citizen" in American political speeches, a word which carries burdensome connotations of responsibilities as well as rights.

They are all "consumers" now - a nation of mouths connected to a massive corporate conveyor belt.
