So powerful are the possible connections between Kennedy's assassination and Israel's nuclear program that a major, highly-controversial book was written about just that, “Final Judgment” by the late Michael Collins Piper.
Even though I once was a serious student of the assassination, I've never read that book, but it does enjoy almost cult-like status, and there have been many efforts to suppress it.
There is no question that the assassination turned a lot of things around in Israel's favor.
Lyndon Johnson was undoubtedly the most servile American President to Israeli interests, at least before the coming of Donald Trump. Johnson came, almost custom-tailored to a number of Israel’s desires at the time.
Atomic weapons. Dreams about seizing all of “Greater Israel,” something it achieved in the (planned) 1967 War. Greater financial aid for Israel from the United States, something Johnson provided. Just the presence of a very pliable man in the Oval Office, as opposed to someone like Kennedy. Johnson had a huge, long record of corruption and fraud, and it is even claimed with some plausibility, political killings.
His behavior around Israel's attack on the USS Liberty, an intelligence ship stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean during the Six Day War, raises immense questions about his relationship to Israel. It is about as much of a mystery as the assassination itself.
Jack Ruby, former Chicago gangster and enforcer, served as a local organizer and enforcer in Dallas around the assassination. He just happened to be almost hysterically dedicated to the idea of Israel, although we have no evidence of connections.
Kennedy’s tough, secret exchanges with Israel over its nuclear weapons program were just one of a number of his efforts to enforce strong views about war, nuclear weapons, the American military establishment, and the primacy of an elected President over the Washington Power establishment.
He failed, and his death, no matter who was responsible, marks a true watershed or turning point in modern American history.
