No, you have it wrong; restoring Palmyra is not what history
will never forgive.
What history will in fact never forgive is the complicity of
governments like Britain's in this whole sad tale of terror in Syria.
The terror was artificially created by the United States,
Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Israel in order to destroy the government of Syria
and perhaps divide the country up.
Countries like Britain and France sat on the sidelines pretending
to be against terror and selling things to the offending parties.
A third of million killed, millions of refugees, and the
destruction of priceless antiquities - all completely avoidable.
That is the ugly truth of Syria that cannot be repeated enough.
Governments conducting proxy wars without the permission of
voters and in the service of special interests – that truly is unforgivable.
