JOHN CHUCKMAN COMMENT: AN INTERESTING PERSPECTIVE ON NEW CLAIM THAT EARTH IS AT ITS HOTTEST IN 115,000 YEARS

COMMENT POSTED TO AN ARTICLE IN THE GUARDIAN

"Planet at its hottest in 115,000 years thanks to climate change, experts say'

Well, I know that it wasn't intended, but I find the statement extremely revealing.

115,000 years is rather a drop in the bucket of time.

In geological time, it's likely not so much as the first thin skin of a great, huge, fat onion.

Human life goes back about 500,000 years.

Our direct and indirect ancestors go back several million years.

Life itself may have started as long ago as 3 billion years.

And the earth is approaching its five billionth birthday slowly.
