Shimon Peres as his favorite leader?
Well at least this provides an opportunity to comment on Mr.
Peres whose obituary yesterday permitted no comments.
Mr. Peres was the political father of the Israeli nuclear
arsenal and all the deception and law-breaking that went into its creation.
Mr. Peres also was involved in serious atrocities in
Lebanon.
And he was the Israeli leader who more or less created the
framework for the seemingly-eternal occupation of Palestinians we see today,
surely one of the world's ugliest human rights problems.
