“Saudi crown prince to give first speech since journalist's killing”
There's a powerful scene in Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago in which Stalin is giving a speech to a packed hall.
Members of the audience clap very hard in response to his every sentence because members of the NKVD (forerunner of the KGB) stride up and down the aisles, looking here and there for people who are not clapping.
I imagine the atmosphere for the Crown Prince's speech will much resemble Solzhenitsyn's scene.
