"Trump, Pompeo, Hook represent US’ dangerous ruling class"
“The Trump-Pompeo-Hook triangle has created an image of the American ruling class which is considered unreliable by its allies, a threat by its rivals and incompetent by its citizens,”
That is all true.
But in a sense, it does not matter. The American Empire in the end depends on force, not what people think of it.
Empires are not democratic. They are authoritarian, by definition.
And American citizens - apart from the country’s establishment elites - have absolutely no voice in foreign affairs, no matter how mow much they may talk about them.
Foreign affairs and the empire are matters set by the country's Deep State.
The Deep State is a very real part of contemporary America, just as real as the three branches of government established in the Constitution.
Appealing to principle is as pointless as appealing to principle in a thunderstorm.
