Yes, indeed, this analysis is faulty.
Not only will "superdelegates" be reluctant to have stopped the first black candidate (blacks support Democrats by something like 80% of their voters), they will be reluctant to override the votes of millions of ordinary party members.
The "superdelegates" are there for some calamity, as for example someone of Bush's dreadful quality having barely won the primaries.
What we have in Obama is the finest political talent to emerge in the United States in half a century. Using their power to override his nomination would be suicide for the party.
