I should say so.
The fact that the author even has to say "the people
worried about it aren’t all bigots" is extremely worrying.
Of course, they're not. It is a pathetic statement to have
to make.
But there are signals from all over the establishment - and
certainly major corporate news media, including very much this newspaper - of a
clear preference against genuinely free speech.
As though you could just precision-snip this or that bit you
don't like and leave the principle sound.
Human affairs simply do not work that way.
