Yes, but you must keep some perspective.
What is current is what is what most influences a young generation.
Many of them couldn't even define a Nazi if asked, but Russia is in their news daily.
That is why Google in its searches gives priority to recent events. It is a kind of deliberate bias.
History, unfortunately does tend to be forgotten except by those with a special interest in it.
It's just the human condition.
