JOHN CHUCKMAN COMMENT: REFERRING TO THE UNSANITARY HORRORS OF LA'S HOMELESSNESS AS "THE FILTH OF PROGRESSIVISM" - YOU COULDN'T COME UP WITH A MORE IGNORANT PHRASE - AMERICA'S GROTESQUE POVERTY WHILE HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS SPENT ABROAD TO CREATE STILL MORE HUMAN MISERY

I don't know whether the author is blind or prejudiced. It really does not matter since the effect is the same.

This terrible situation has nothing to do with "progressivism."

Quite the opposite.

Here is direct tangible evidence of America's terrible problems with inequality, with its grotesque poverty and squalor, with its people being ignored while literally tens of billions are spent in wars and threatening others, causing still more misery.

Air-conditioned tents in the desert of Iraq for American troops invading a country illegally cost $20 billion a year just for electricity. Yes, that’s billion with a “b.” The Pentagon simply knows no limits. I remember hot, just-baked pizzas being helicoptered out to American troops scattered all over in Vietnam.

That, while this kind of third-world squalor prevailed in a hundred places in the United States.

Pretty strange idea of what it means to be a country.
