It is just a fact that the United States imprisons more of its own people than anyone, by far.

Its prisons are also notorious for brutality. Last time I saw a number, about eight hundred people died without explanation in American jails in one year.

And its police have a world reputation for brutality. Over 1,100 Americans are killed each year by their own police.

And do I need to remind readers that Israel, the outfit on whose behalf Trump makes his comments, has nearly as many people imprisoned as it has population? Something like six million are kept in what seems virtually perpetual bondage.
