“In an age of fake news and alternative facts, history is up for grabs. Convince people to question Auschwitz and what else can’t you challenge?”
"This is what modern Holocaust denial looks like. No wonder British Jews are so scared"
And a picture of Auschwitz thrown in? Good God, what are British politics coming to?
Well, that about pushes things as far as it is possible.
There is no one I've heard of who denies a fact of history. No one. It’s absurd. You know perfectly well anyone who did so would be out on his or her ear in minutes.
We have a noisy and demanding minority, supported, I am sad to say, by British newspapers, who deny all the conventions of civil discourse and respectful politics.
Innuendo and ugly suggestions. Outright name-calling. Accusations with no proof. Constant pressure tactics to get what you want.
And what is wanted?
Jeremy Corbyn, as decent a man as ever there was in politics, to not be leader, after having been elected twice.
It’s that simple. So, Senator Joseph McCarthy’s tactics are deemed perfectly acceptable if they get the job done.
This whole dirty crusade since Corbyn was elected is worse than anything we see in the politics of the United States, and that really is saying something.
Corbyn is fair-minded on Israel, and that is not allowed. Fair-minded is the highest standard there is, but it is rejected by people using such tactics.
Israel simply does not like him, as it does not like all true liberals or Leftists. Why? Because they tend to talk about and be concerned with human and democratic rights.
You have to be totally unfair, almost to the point of saying that there is “no such thing as a Palestinian,” which I’m sure some of this crowd do say.
And by the way, where was all this horrible stuff during Tony Blair’s years and just after? It just exploded into being with Corbyn’s leadership? Preposterous.
