JOHN CHUCKMAN COMMENT: AMERICA ISSUES A "WARRANT" OVER THE ILLEGAL APPLICATION ITS OWN LAWS TO THE WHOLE WORLD - LACK OF RESPECT FOR INTERNATIONAL RULE OF LAW - AMERICA JUST CANNOT STOP ITS IDIOCY WHEN IT COMES TO IRAN

John Chuckman

COMMENT POSTED TO AN ARTICLE IN CBC NEWS

“U.S. says it has warrant to seize Iranian tanker released in Gibraltar

“The U.S. government said Friday it had obtained a warrant to seize the tanker, citing violations of U.S. sanctions, as well as money laundering and terrorism statutes. The U.S. is seeking to take control of the tanker as well as all of the petroleum aboard it and $995,000 US.”

Will the idiot United States never stop?

Obviously, it can issue itself a "warrant" for anything it wants.

Equally obviously, it has nothing to do with international law or respect for the rule of law.

Finally, Britain came to its senses, after stupidly following direction from John Bolton originally to arrest the tanker, something we know from Gibraltar sources and something which started a whole sequence of unpleasant events.

America's sanction laws are not laws of some world government. They are laws only inside the United States, but when you are an international bully, ready to flex military and financial muscle, you can make people feel their impact anywhere.

Which is just what America does. And after it, all on its own, ripped up a working international treaty with half a dozen other signatories it simply ignores. It’s exactly like one company of a group of companies in a contract for a project, a project already working and established for several years, just suddenly ripping up the contract despite objections from all the others involved.

Only there are no effective international courts or police to appeal to for the enforcement of what were legal obligations America simply ignores. It just bullies everyone and issues its own “warrants.” It literally has become a pirate nation, giving no one on earth any peace.

Response to a comment saying, “America needs to fix its own problems at home, total chit show”:

Boy, is that right.

But the politicians running Washington couldn't care less.

They have neither time nor money for actually governing their own country.

They spend all their time and all their money pursuing the goal of telling everyone else in the world what to do.

A total madhouse.
