JOHN CHUCKMAN COMMENT: JUSTIN TRUDEAU'S SLUMP IN POLLS IS NOT SURPRISING DESPITE HIS PERSONAL CHARM - A FAIRLY INEFFECTIVE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT IS WIDELY PERCEIVED

COMMENT POSTED TO AN ARTICLE ON CBC NEWS

“A normal mid-mandate slump in the polls? Not really
“The Liberals' slump in the polls is not unheard of at this stage of their mandate, but it is far from routine”

I am sorry to have to say this, but Justin, for all his charm, just does not have the drive or skills to be Prime Minister.

He's all superficial fluff. His only real merit is that he is not Stephen Harper, perhaps the most unpleasant politician ever to hold the office in this country.

Trudeau since being elected has done only a single thing of consequence, and that is bringing in the 30 thousand Syrian refugees, and that was at the very beginning.

Not one serious reform, not one important policy, several terrible cabinet appointments, several unacceptable acts, and providing a poor public image with a number of behaviors from his trip to a private island to the godawful display in India.

He seems to just float in limbo, regarding trivial activities as consequential, but they most certainly are not.

And whenever I here Bill Blair blubber without saying anything (which is what he did as Chief of Police for years) or hear Chrystia Freeland's strident and biased statements for America's head-in-the-sand policies, I cringe.

I am not a Conservative. Indeed, I am a member of no party. But I am a small "l" liberal who feels this government does not represent the country well.

The Liberals thought they were saved after their disastrous flirtation with an incompetent Michael Ignatieff, who made everyone cringe, but they are not saved. They appear to have embraced another incompetent, just one with some superficial charm.
