“Boris Johnson has now
moved from post-truth to post-shame”
"Struggles for lexical precision” combined with a
friendly-looking laughing photo?
I'd call that making excuses, at best, keeping it light and
jocular.
Better still, call it what it really is, propaganda,
pro-government propaganda.
You see, there's nothing light and sweet and harmless about
what Boris, hand-in-hand with his music hall partner, Theresa, have done.
Public accusations of attempted murder with not a jot of
proof is very serious stuff.
In fact, to this moment, we do not even know for sure that
any kind of "attack" happened.
EMR in Salisbury at the scene of discovering the sick father
and daughter said it looked like a fentanyl overdose. The woman doctor who
first treated the daughter handled her for half an hour with no ill effects and
detected no chemical evidence.
Of course, Britain's governments have become rather blasé
about such things.
After all, this is the Age of America's Neocon Wars and
non-stop insults to Russia.
And there's all that bombing and lying in Syria and other
places.
There's all that feel-good stuff about a Saudi usurper,
kidnapper, and mass killer.
Lying surely gets to be a way of life.
AFTERWORD:
Sergei Skripal's niece Victoria has been denied a UK visa to
visit her poisoned relatives.
This just stinks.
But then so does literally everything about the Skripal
Affair.
Unless and until the British government provides some real
evidence, something that wouldn't be laughed out of court, I can only regard
the whole matter as a staged hoax, in keeping with all of America's tiresome
efforts to make Russia appear ominous.
On September 1, 1939, German radio announced the outbreak of
the Second World War by reporting Adolf Hitler’s speech to the Reichstag, in
which the dictator said, “This night for the first time Polish regular soldiers
fired on our own territory.”
Yes, the Nazis got some prisoners and dressed them up as
Polish soldier, then shot them at the border, claiming Poland had attacked. It
was almost laughably staged just like events around the Skripals, Poland having
no reason on earth to do such a stupid thing.
We are all ready to accept that certified "bad
guys" in the past did such things.
But here it very much appears we have the same kind of stuff
from a so-called democratic, Western-society government.
I do believe America's lie-based and murderous Neocon Wars
have pushed the West into acting like Nazis in many things.
But, in a more sophisticated world, it is not so easy as it
once was to pull off such totally dishonest stunts without being discovered.
I'd gladly take back everything I've ever said against
Theresa and Boris if they just supplied real evidence and quit lurking around
doing questionable things in the shadows like this.
But I seriously doubt I'll ever have to do that.
