JOHN CHUCKMAN COMMENT: PORTON DOWN LABS OFFICIAL CONTRADICTS BRITAIN'S FOREIGN MINISTER ABOUT NERVE AGENT - HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURED BRITISH SCANDAL AND BIG QUESTIONS LEFT UNANSWERED

COMMENT POSTED TO AN ARTICLE IN THE GUARDIAN

Boris Johnson? Are you really suggesting that anything he says - much less tweets or has tweeted - is worth regarding?

The man has destroyed his own integrity as a witness to anything, several times over.

This stuff about Porton Down not having confirmed the nerve agent being from Russia is not new.

In the early days of what I believe is a manufactured scandal, people who follow events closely knew Porton Down had said it could not confirm that the material was from Russia.

The weasel words used were along the lines of "of a type created by Russia," and with that powerful evidence, Theresa and Boris shot off their mouths with irresponsible and libelous accusations and then proceeded to take measures punishing Russia.

God, what if you were on trial, would you want jurors who interpreted evidence in that fashion?

I don’t see how you could find an example of more obviously irresponsible and dishonest words from a head of government short of the consistently absurd Poroshenko in Ukraine claiming to Europe that it was only Ukraine which stopped Russian tanks.

It got Theresa and Boris some cheap, quick headlines - politicians always relishing any publicity they can get - and it got them some pseudo-patriotic rallying from a cabinet badly divided on Brexit.

The government has not answered a single one of Russia's valid questions either. Not one.

As, could you please supply us with a sample to test?

As also, how could you even identify a complex substance like this without a pre-existing sample in your labs?

As, refusing a request for a Consular visit to Russian citizens in Britain, something against all international protocols.

As, who administered the antidote and when? You have only a few minutes to do so with nerve agents.

But the official story is of contamination at their house door and showing up and getting sick some twenty minutes later at a different location. That just cannot happen with nerve agent.

By the way, a Salisbury woman doctor has been quoted as saying she treated the daughter when she was found sick and puking on a bench. She spent a half hour treating her while others treated the father. None of them saw or smelled any chemicals. And none of them experienced any discomfort themselves despite extensively handling of the victims.

Local EMR at the scene said that it looked to them like a fentanyl overdose, something they've seen quite a lot of in Salisbury.

Despite claims of one of the most dangerous chemicals on earth being involved, Salisbury was not evacuated and roped off by officials, as was quickly done in the case of something significantly less lethal in the past, an anthrax scare.

Even if there was nerve agent involved, which is not at all established, the Russians have said that something like twenty countries have the capacity to manufacture the stuff.

The Iranians, some while back, actually did it in a demonstration project under international oversight to prove it could be done from commercial chemicals.

There is an immense cloud of suspicions and questions around this whole matter. Why does the government refuse to respond? Yet they sure feel free to hurl accusations.

Response to another comment:

Not just protect us from government idiocy, but from servility.

This government is pathetically servile towards the United States.

Maybe they thought they would earn bonus game points from The Great Orange One and the Imperial Deep State by making just one more false accusation against Russia.

Russia has been a target of America's Deep State since Obama's time.

Paid-for coup in Ukraine. Tanks run up to the border. New provocative missiles put in place. Desperate attempts to stop needed Russian gas sales. Mindless sanctions costing everyone billions of dollars.
