JOHN CHUCKMAN COMMENT: THE TERRIBLE PLIGHT OF EGYPT'S FIRST ELECTED PRESIDENT - HE COULD DIE IN PRISON - HOW THE MIDDLE EAST'S SELF-DECLARED "ONLY DEMOCRACY" REGARDS DEMOCRATIC NEIGHBORS

COMMENT POSTED TO AN ARTICLE IN THE INDEPENDENT

“If Mohamed Morsi's treatment in Egypt's Tora prison doesn't improve soon, he could face a premature death
“From the transcript of a recent trial appearance, Morsi, who suffers from diabetes, describes the loss of sight in his left eye and how low blood sugar made him fall 'completely unconscious'”

Mohamed Morsi's treatment is a shame for all advanced countries.

He is only where he is because the Middle East's "only democracy” wanted him there.

Israel took great exception to some of this elected President's statements during his brief term.

And when Israel takes exception to something, America’s dark ops swing into action.

So, the brief experiment in Egyptian democracy was ended in yet one more elaborately staged coup.

We are back to where we were before with 30 years of Egyptian dictatorship.

Now, Israel can be happy again.

It is just a fact that Israel is only happy when its neighbors are all dictators or absolute monarchs, ones who loyally toe the American policy line.

So much for the Mideast's self-proclaimed "only democracy." It not only is a pretty shabby version of democracy itself (a la Nationalist South Africa), it is a major explanatory variable in the lack of more democracy emerging in the region.
