Amy Goodman, I have always regarded as a CIA front. She is
exactly the kind of rather ineffectual and insipid American progressive that
CIA selects to secretly subsidize.
CIA has always enjoyed having people and publications which
are trusted by "the left" in their vest pocket. There have been many
cases of this. Perhaps most famously, the old Saturday Review was buoyed on CIA
money.
Often - not always, but often - such people are not even
aware of their total situation but are happy to go on with what they do,
receiving adequate "donations" to do it. In a sense, it's a living
for someone like Goodman who likely would not have a very interesting job in
its absence and would certainly not have the ego-satisfying media exposure.
Of course, the New York Times, widely and confusingly
regarded in the US as liberal, is no such thing. Its virtually an official
outlet for CIA disinformation. It has been caught with CIA on staff more than
once. The paper has provided cover, as reporters, for agents abroad, too. Many
of its writers are conduits for CIA or Pentagon disinformation. Very notably,
this includes Thomas Friedman who keeps collecting Pulitzer Prizes to buoy his
authority and reward his dogged loyalty.
But Glenn Greenwald comes as a bit of a shock. He has been a
pretty reliable independent critic.
I guess the CIA got to him somehow on this matter. There are
so many avenues for influencing people this way. Through his foreign residency.
Through his sexual identity. Etc, etc.
I have no idea of Greenwald's views on Israel, but of course
he is a Jewish American, and it is a pretty sure bet in general that any Jewish
American supports Israel, especially if he or she believes a situation is
critical.
Israel views the entire assault on Syria as in its national
interest. It’s a project Netanyahu has wet dreams over. But he has been pretty
frustrated by the setbacks of Syria's legitimate government assisted by Russia
in defeating the mercenary armies put into Syria to destabilize it and
partition it. I'm sure behind the scenes he is pushing hard for new American
aggressive measures. He is a truly ruthless man, as we see in Gaza.
As I've said many times, there is almost no such thing in
America as a genuine liberal. The place is as inhospitable to liberalism as the
moon is for flora and fauna. americans were all raised and fed on the American
Imperial ideal. It's in the very air they breathe. Often, they do not even
realize how narrow is their vision because it is almost characteristic of
average Americans to take no interest in matters abroad. That is, beyond the
coach-supper television pictures of explosions and fires offering them the same
sense of satisfaction as their favorite team winning in a football game.
Of course, the bottom line here, as with the clearly
manufactured Skripal Affair, is "Where is the evidence"? You talk
about evidence, but do not produce it.
We all can accept genuine evidence. We don't need rhetoric or
preaching or threats if we see convincing evidence. Most people believe in
doing what's right.
But nonsense from the White Helmets is not evidence to any
intelligent and informed person. It is disinformation because that entire
organization is a tool for propaganda and disinformation. It is funded for that
purpose. They have been caught at it too many times.
Of course, when I say, "Do what's right," that
does not mean that the earth's self-declared God of International Affairs has
any right to attack anyone with its military. No, that corrupt God has itself
murdered many millions of people since WWII, created many destructive horrors, overturned
even democratic governments it did not like, and it is the most corrupt judge
possible to find since its entire national political structure is force-fed on
big money almost like a pâté de foie gras goose stuffed with grain.
If there was one thing the dishonest and cowardly Trump was
right about previously, it is that Washington is a swamp, but he, of course,
has done absolutely nothing about it. No, instead, he has stripped off his
clothes and jumped into the mud melee along with all the others. Washington is
simply one giant orgy of too much money and too much power and politicians out
for all they can get.
The American military consistently ignores genuine terrible
situations, and there have been scores of them in recent decades. You name it,
if it was a genuine human rights situation, they ignored it. Whenever the
military is used, it automatically tells us that the situation is about an
American imperial concern, having nothing to do with justice or fairness.
